Biomass as Energy is energy produced from plants and animals. Like burning wood gives you fire and heat, causing you to be warm, oil from plants and animal fat can help us cook. When an animal, lets take the good ol' cow. When the cow eats the grass, the energy from the grass is spread through the cows body, eventually through the the cows dung. we then burn the waste, which releases energy. we trap the fumes of the waste to run machines such as factory machines. Biomass has several advantages in comparison to other energy sources. In the process, it emits no harmful chemicals such as carbon dioxide. There is never going to be a shortage of animal droppings, so we have an almost never-ending source of energy, and its completely renewable. Fossil fuels emit carbon dioxide when burned, this is what causes global warming. With biomass, we are less dependent on fossil fuel as our most important source. We can take garbage from a landfill and burn it to create energy. Sounds great. of course, where there's a positive, there's always a negative . First of all, its expensive, just like recycling. It is, as of right now, inefficient compared to fossil fuels. It's a new energy source, and it has potential to become a big one. It slows global warming, it is unlimited, it benefits everybody. Why wouldn't you do want it? So, would you want to invest in Biomass? Answer in the comments. |
